Study areas

We first defined two study frameworks using the Smith and Sandwell global elevation model (Smith and Sandwell 1997) to interpolate the 3×3 and 9×9 km2 Study areas.

Figure 1: Extents of data sets described in this report. The largest extents include the entire eastern North Pacific and Bering Sea; the 9×9 km2 study area (purple) includes the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska, while the 3×3 km2 study area (red) includes only the northern Gulf of Alaska. The extents of the Hermann 3×3 km2 circulation model are overlaid in grey.
